the gap

More and more as time passes, the fine subtleties and earnest feelings dissolve. The acute responses to emotions become sharper, more distinct and colorless. The depth and clarity of loneliness only give way to milder sensations of dabbled doubt.

I suppose as people get older, they begin to realize the blind depth of emotions. Emotions too heavy to bear turn helplessly into agressive responses for something more shallow.

There's something to be valued in the sweet depression, the pangs of loneliness and helpless longing. As I get older, it sometimes passes me by how easy it is to find secondhand cures to these.. emotions. And how shallow those responses are. Sometimes I forget to embrace the subtleties that should be left alone.

It retains the purity of human to human interactions. A childhood crush to a porno. Each one seems to fill that blotch of loneliness, just one is a more subtle and pure than the other. Sometimes the distance between the two and everything in between seem to blur and all I see is a colorless blotch willing to be filled in, in any measure necessary. Anything to fill the gap. It's so loud and blaring.

#BitchImTheShit

Rainy days & classical music, that's my bread and butter.
Just kidding, I don't even know what that means.
And nah, I'm not listening to classical music either, I'm bumpin #BitchImTheShit.
Relatable. But yea, its raining.

Who am I even writing this too? I guess I'm just talking to my naive self-conscious self.

Some things I have reached:
One day, I will inevitably be poor.
Another day, I will break out of that poverty into rising fame and wealth.
I will be able to a relate a life filled with passion and struggle, a completed ethos.
God will be proud of me.

It's just..

one of those days.
When I think about the things around me with a clear, level headed mind, everybody and the things they do seem so ridiculous. Couple things:
I think its the most rediculous thing when a Christian judges somebody. It totally goes against everything that they stand for, and the interesting part is that its almost subconscious. With drinking, smoking, girls.. Some people are so self righteous. Sometimes I catch myself doing the same thing. Imposing my standards on other people
I learned to be independent, but sometime that's stopping me from being dependent on God.
And why worry so much about things that don't matter? There are many more important things in life than  studying, or girls, or anything of the sort.
These days, I'm just chilling. I don't need anybody, and I'm chillin' with the friends I have. It's not like I want more attention from other people.
I'm the happiest when I make write music.
I'm also very blessed in making good friends. It seems I meet so many good people in my life
and one last thing,
I am looking forward to the day that I am miserable. And honest to God, I know it sounds wierd and horribly pessimistic and wrong but there are reasons. There is nothing to learn about yourself, other people, or life without going through struggles. Through adversity is when a person grows. My greatest prayer request is that when I actually go through these hardship (which if I am to pursue my passions, sure enough I will) I pray that I will still have my safe, level headed mindset. Sometimes I am envious of people with hardships. And I pray to God that I will make it through those hardships. and so I welcome those hardships with an open embrace, because what matters in life is not happiness or self fulfillment, but being able to live for the people you love and live for something greater than yourself. Happiness is the most overrated pleasure.

Weight

Smoke filled rooms, loose women, and alcohol.
My experience with these things may not be much, but even a fool can say that those things are meaningless.
Actually, I take that back. I'd say it takes some intelligence to come to that conclusion. But even so,
I'm better than that, right?
Taxi drivers probably got more ass than me in the days of their prime. But what are they doing now? Driving taxis.

Me? Not driving taxis. That said, pursuing the things that matter becomes a lot easier.
No more smoking, no more drinking, no more going after dumb girls, no more shit talking.
All the easy things in life are meaningless... And conversely everything meaningful requires effort. Talking shit about people doesn't bring make us any more distinguished. I don't need to drink to have fun. I don't need to smoke to relieve stress or look cool. It's a tradeoff, so laugh and lavish while you can, because its all going to evaporate.

Me? I'm after the things that matter, those things that make my life have some weight over other lives.
Those evil things we do will collapse upon us in the moment when we need most help

What is easy, and what is right

The closest words to describe this feeling would be something of a "heady villainous feeling". It's one thing to be tipsy of being melancholy, but an entirely different matter to be lost in the drunkery of more 'cerebral' thought. Not that I would say that I find myself in the midst of this intoxicating liquor.

It's almost as if these feelings, brought upon myself by an impossible force, are pressured to a point in which they cannot be kept in the same state any longer. Feelings change, just as weather or mood changes. In science we call this a boiling or melting point. I suppose in people, similarly, this would be called a breaking point. Fitzgerald eloquently calls this point a crack-up.

Not necessarily do I find myself in that miserable position, I am actually quite content (and consequently feeling quite insolent of myself) right now. But I digress.

Why would I find myself in a state or 'cracking-up' (hypothetically speaking of course)? Perhaps for one, I find it wholly inconvenient to live for a sake greater than myself. And yet, time after time, I consider it a top priority, not as a misplaced strand of feelings, but more of an overcompensation. Overcompensation of what? the derogatory nature of the word may detract from what I am actually trying to say. I find myself in an insulting position to the thing I consider my conscience has pushed me to want to break free of the boundaries I have set across my path. And thus internal conflict arises, on top of the feelings brought down by the emotional misery of imagination and real people. Time and time again, I get myself tangled in the mishap of other people's business, sometimes with legitimate thoughts, and yet at others with a quiet onset of misapprehension. Regardless of the motive, even regardless if I wish to even take on the burden of that motive, it has set me stray from my path. This is what I call the sophistry of care.

The real blight in a person when they seem to realize this inconsistency within their selfish, or thought to be selfless selves comes at this point when they find no logical explanation of why they should in fact care. If the onset of this particular crack-up, this heady villainous feeling I have described earlier could be attributed at all of the emotional turmoil of myself brought upon by others, they why should one choose to pursue this guilty path?

You see, this idea of care, sometimes (hypothetically speaking, yes, me) stems from the idea that other people matter. And this unhealthy exasperation gives way for a person to change, change the to the constant flow and eb of other people's preference. The most dangerous element of this emotion is that when care is intertwined with the utterly selfish notion that the care is to reciprocated, that misery would like to have company. And for this care to mirrored back to oneself completely destroys the fundamental aspect of care that matters, other people. But realize this, many times, this is an impossible obstacle to avoid, and this stems from the flaws in one's personality. It overtakes the mind in a quiet revolution, a coup détat of healthy emotions upturned by viscous self longing and low self esteem. For example, for certain people, one would be brought to give way to certain exposure of personality, and yet to other people, different elements of this personality would arise. Two-faced, three-faced, and eventually poly-faced. In a sea of faces, one lets this overwhelmed and twisted desired and longing for recognition by other people (a deeply fabricated sense of care) take apart the basic elements of personality that keeps the identity intact.

Allow me to dwell on the idea of identity for a second. The more and more I think about identity, I feel as if all forms of personal expression are in fact deviations from one true and 'perfect' being. Religiously speaking, as all were created in the image of God, this would be God. Would that also not conclude than that as deviation from God are sin, that pieces of identity are in fact sinful? And continuing off of this strain of logic, I suppose I can then say that the elements of our personality that are 'bad', or unholy, are all byproducts of sin. If then, this is true, upon ridding ourselves of this sin, than we would find ourselves closer to being like God, and with a personality that is less deviated and more one in nature.

The thing fabric of personality is easily tarnished by sin then, is it not? So back to my hypothetical state of internal conflict and confusion. As stated in earlier blog posts that my pride is deviation from God and causing me to face personality issues and what not.

What was I getting at?

...

I remember now.

What I was going to get at (I do not know how much of what I wrote relates to this) is that the state of being wholly unsatisfied and in constant turmoil with oneself is a sign of fighting for, or against feelings of oneness. The 'for or against' is determined entirely by oneself. If (I hypothetically speaking hope that I am for oneness) that I am fighting for oneness than this inner state of turmoil is healthy reminder of the person I should long to be. In order for myself to find a stable foundation to think upon, this 'oneness' is what I should seek after. The most appreciation of this oneness would be then to care about other people, because a crack-up, longing for change, is much greater than one who is wholly satisfied with oneself. To try and cut off this man that I long to be would be so much easier, but it is through adversity that we rise to the stars.

Let me tell you one thing: the worst things in life are the easiest. This is a truth that lies upon the laws of balance. As easy as it is to do everything easy, be selfish, be prideful, do drugs, just have fun, make stupid friends, love easy people, hate people, everything that is harder is much more rewarding. I know this truth.

this flow ideas is terribly put, and I wish I put it in some better form, right now, I find it hard to think. My mind is twisted and tangled in a web of dark thoughts.

lies

After this prolonged period of being open and courteous to other people, I have now lost interest in ninety percent of the people I have met. This prolonged period was necessary to get past the wall people hold over their demeanors, and by doing so, I have come to the conclusion that this place is filled with air-heads, dunces, empty, arrogant and self righteous people. Don't get me wrong, there are many nice people here but that doesn't balance out the former. And as a person trying to erase the pride out of his life, it is not healthy for me to lavish myself with the pride of others.

I enjoy my time. I will be devoting it to studio time and reading books now. Also, I have a confession. I do not know now whether or not I have struggled this far for myself or for the testament of others. For weeks on end I have been struggling with this idea of love and care and cannot come to the conclusion whether or not I actually hold any fragment of either love or hope for anybody. It is only my hope and my thinking that can say that what I feel is real, and not just an overcompensation for the lack of warmth in the past. Some people find comfort in other people, and the attention they can get. And some people just don't know how to be alone. Some people don't have enough self-esteem to realize that surrounding yourself with idiots will do not good.

Surely I will be with many people, but I have my priorities now.

I'm just kidding. I didn't mean what I said.

Writaholic

I'm a workaholic when it comes to writing lyrics.
Somehow, I've convinced myself that it is more enjoyable to create this mishap of words and music than going to events and hanging out with friends. Some part of me wants to believe that this sad illusion may be beneficial to finding the future I want in my hands.
Some ugly part of me says that it's not that important to go out to social gatherings and meet people.
But who knows? Maybe I'll fail on both sides and just be miserable for my life.
I just really really want to find that rush of success. If it comes, I hope I can say without regrets, that those nights I spent up making music and writing lyrics, was really worth it.
Or maybe I'm just a lonely ghost who is in self-denial out of self-pity and lack of self-esteem. Maybe that's why I don't go out to the events.
Either way, is it a good idea to put these things on a scale? I hope I can find a good balance that can lead to success on both terms.
