the dilemma of experiences
It's a widely regarded, and often trite expression that experience is the heart of all growth. In order to grow, one needs experiences and whereas good experiences are a decent teacher, bad experiences are much better. Experiences are almost entirely retrospective in the way that they work, and despite the emotional currents that may run through during the experience, they fade away in the wake of looking back. And that's how people learn, upon realizing and admitting mistakes or things that should've been a certain way, they shape their future decisions upon the mistakes and regrets of the past to not repeat them. If not, then there is no growth, and like the prevailing notion of the past: history repeats itself.Well, fuck, I guess that summarizes it. There is no dilemma. I had originally thought that the dilemma was that experiences also act as a contaminant for future ones, but I guess it's not exactly the case. Well, there are exceptions, and there are gray shades, but for the most part, yeah. I doubt a prostitute will find a comforting relationship because problems and insecurities sometimes grow to a point of no return, but for the less damaged person, the paragraph above stands true.
Growth is illusory because of our human faults, but what is just required is some wisdom to know that bad things happen and we all make mistakes, and the humility to realize the mistakes. So this isn't a post relaying the thought that we should go and make mistakes and fuck around to "learn", because that's a faulted mindset. When in that mindset, growth is nearly impossible because growth requires a humble mindset, to know that experience can be bigger than the person.
EDIT THERE ARE MANY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS
